■ Message from the CEO.
 |
Nowhere in the world was it possible to escape the news of the extraordinary turbulence experienced in international markets and economies throughout the globe. We watched as nations and governments set a new precedence and worked alongside allies to assist markets and sooth consumer fears.
As we look forward to Q4 and the interesting years that lay ahead, the active RFID industry, and IDENTEC SOLUTIONS in particular, has never been better positioned to meet the new and changing needs of our customers.
Increased scrutiny of business flow is anticipated as organizations step up to meet the challenges of today’s economic climate. Organizations will demand increased controls over assets to safeguard investments and streamline workflow. The need for effective track-and-locate technology will become commonplace in everyday business practices. Enhanced control of assets translates into increased security, more effective management of large scale assets and guaranteed return on investment.
As CEO of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, I am proud to offer our customers solutions that meet the needs of business for both today and tomorrow. Low infrastructure, low maintenance, reusable, robust and reliable — these are all words that are synonymous with our award-winning portfolio.
There are few things you can count on, but be assured that IDENTEC SOLUTIONS technology is one of them.

1. FOCUS
■ Worlds Largest Active RFID Deployment.
IDENTEC SOLUTIONS'IntelliFIND system has successfully been deployed at the Bechtel construction project building at the Elm Road Generation Station in Milwaukee. Construction of the power plant requires an immense amount of material and parts, stored in yards around the construction site, some of which were several miles away. Locating specific items required an investment of valuable time and resources that could ultimately lead to a negative impact on project scheduling. After careful analysis and research, the decision was made to implement IDENTEC SOLUTIONS' IntelliFIND technology.
Deployed for the tracking of pipe spools and construction steel at the various yards, locating the needed materials was drastically reduced.
- Average time to find a single part and flag it for pick up ― one man hour. Average track and locate time with IntelliFIND — 45 seconds.
- Load time is reduced because teamsters know exactly where the part is, and can load them quickly and confidently.
- Pipefitters and steel workers are able to be in the construction facility practising their trade instead of looking through 42 acres of yard area for parts.
Easily integrated into Bechtel’s existing infrastructure, the installation was phased in different stages, commencing in April 2008. Completed in July, the Bechtel Generation Station deployment boasts the largest active RFID deployment in the world. In fact, Bechtel continues to further utilize IDENTEC SOLUTIONS' IntelliFIND system by obtaining a tighter integration into their procurement systems.
Although the system was installed over a period of four months, the results were instant. Today, the number of Bechtel-tagged assets is still growing, as the unique benefits of the IntelliFIND installation continue to be realized.
The flexibility of the IntelliFIND system easily accommodates Bechtel’s changing needs. Personnel are able to seek materials more safely and effectively. Down time and workflow processes are optimized, allowing craftsmen to do their jobs instead of spending hours searching for parts and materials.
